Diagnosis: Acute Kidney Injury Secondary to Sepsis

Scenario

A manager at a large FMCG firm was ill and diagnosed with sepsis. She required haemodialysis and further expert management, which was not available in the Eastern part of Nigeria where she was being treated.

She was immediately transferred to Lagos first with our Emergency Transport Unit (ETU) and subsequently to South Africa with her husband by air ambulance.

Our specialist team of qualified doctors was able to accompany and stabilize her on the journey.

On arrival in South Africa, she was admitted to one of our partner hospitals and her husband received accommodation next to the hospital under our medevac cover plan.
